We’re excited to officially Open for adapting the 7.3L Ford Power Stroke Engines to the 10R140 Transmission.

Please note: This offering is specifically for the 10R140. The 6R140 controller is still in development, and while US Shift plans to begin work on it after completing the 10R140 controller, there is no confirmed release timeline at this time.

 We are going to be filling order in the order they were received. As soon as these pre-orders are filled we will begin production on our regular inventory of parts.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel (1994-2003) to Ford 6.7L Diesel 6R140 / 10R140 Automatic Transmission Adapter Kit

This adapter kit allows you to mate a 1994–2003 Ford 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine to a Ford 6.7L Diesel 6R140 or 10R140 automatic transmission, providing a clean and reliable solution for custom swaps and drivetrain upgrades.

The kit is designed to work with the stock 7.3L Power Stroke flexplate (FRA-420) and stock starter 6.4L. The factory starter adapter and crank spacer are not required when using this kit, simplifying installation and reducing unnecessary components.

A key design advantage of this kit is the 1-inch adapter plate, which replaces the thicker 32mm (1.26-inch) factory starter plate. This optimized thickness improves alignment while maintaining proper drivetrain geometry. Minor modification to the 6.7L bellhousing is required for proper starter Bendix clearance and up-pipe clearances. 

What’s New:
We’ve made key updates to improve fitment and performance, including a redesigned adapter plate and a switch to the 6.4L Power Stroke starter. This starter offers a more compact design with no Bendix cover or extended nose, meaning minimal material removal is required for clearance. It also provides stronger cranking performance—especially beneficial in cold weather—and is widely available.

Transfer Case Compatibility:
Our transfer case adapter has been tested and confirmed to work with NP271 and NP273 transfer cases. Development is still ongoing for BorgWarner transfer cases. While it may be possible to retain a 6.7L transfer case, fitment has not yet been confirmed and may present challenges.
NOTE:
The BW Transfer cases will not work with this kit. Due to parts availability being extremely difficult we recommend using either a NP271/273 from the 99-03 truck or a NV271/273 from the 2011+ F250 with the 6R140. The NP271/273 can be purchased new from several companies.

We want to be clear—these swaps are not guaranteed to be a direct bolt-in with zero modifications.
We’ve done everything we can to make the process as straightforward and clean as possible, but some modifications will still be required. This may include minor adjustments for exhaust routing and starter will need a clearance modification on your setup.
As with any swap, expect some level of customization to get everything fitting and functioning properly.

Due to the size of these kits, orders will ship in multiple boxes. A flat rate of $45 applies within the lower 48 states. International customers are welcome—we will work with you directly to find the most cost-effective shipping solution. Estimated shipping weight for a full package is approximately 50 lbs.
