While the V6 and V8 cases share many similarities, there are two key differences. First, the bellhousing shape is different. More importantly, the rear output bearing differs: the V6 features a heavy-duty ball bearing, while the V8 uses a roller bearing. The ball bearing in the V6 provides better support, as the Ecoboost V6 produces more torque at lower RPMs compared to the Modular V8. Our custom flywheel is designed to incredibly tight tolerances for the Barra crank to ensure the harmonics do not allow the bolts to back out.
